How to Join
Great! You are interested in joining and you do not know what to do next. Your first step is to attend one of our meetings as a guest. Actually sitting in on one of our meetings is an enjoyable experience. You will witness first hand what an average meeting agenda entails.
Attending a meeting does not commit you in any way. You will not be forced to stand up and speak or participate in any of our exercises if you do not wish to. You can attend as many times as you like as a guest. Once you are ready to begin your Toastmasters journey, we will present you with an application for membership. Don't worry, one of our more experienced members will walk you through the application process!
The Toastmasters program is cost effective, especially when compared to seminars charging hundreds of dollars per day. There is a one-time $20 new member fee, and $48 dues every six months (this includes Toastmaster International + club dues). For only $8.00 per month, you receive helpful instruction on how to overcome the fear of public speaking, become a better speaker, a better thinker and a better listener. Tools that can help you in your personal and business affairs.
Each new Toastmaster receives a New Member Kit. The kit features both the Competent Communicator and Competent Leadership manuals, general orientation materials and information regarding skill improvement in areas such as speech evaluation and the use of gestures. The initial prepared speeches, as outlined in the Competent Communicator program manual, are designed with the new Toastmaster in mind.
Would you like your own personal coach? For free? A more advanced member will be assigned as your personal mentor and coach to guide you through the first three speech projects and, as needed beyond. All members will help you improve and master the skills you wish to learn.
In addition, you will receive a subscription to the "Toastmaster" magazine. This magazine is delivered monthly and contains educational articles and features that supplement the communication and leadership programs.
